Protecting Gods Children

The Diocese of Green Bay is committed to creating, providing and maintaining safe environments in all its parishes, schools, and other institutions so that all persons, especially children, youth and individuals at risk, will be protected as far as possible from all harm including physical and sexual abuse. St. Louis Parish is totally committed to providing a Safe Environment for all people. As part of Safe Environment protocols every employee or volunteer who has contact with youth or vulnerable adults goes through three steps prior to beginning any employment or ministry to youth.

1. VIRTUS

What is VIRTUS®?

Virtus® is the brand name that identifies best practices' programs designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote "rightdoing" within religious organizations and to raise awareness regarding sexual abuse in our Church and society. The National Catholic Risk Retention Group Inc. created VIRTUS® to empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those ho interact with the Church through a continuous process of training and information. Any person18 years or older who may have any interaction with the Youth of the Parish in any capacity (i.e. RE teachers, chaperones, mission trip, Little Church etc. etc.) or vulnerable adults (i.e. elderly, nursing home, homebound or those with disabilities) needs to complete this session. Please go to Diocese of Green Bay website and click on Protection our Children. Then follow the instructions. Green Bay Diocese
